COPD vs Asthma

The Provider Education Program has developed a program on COPD vs. Asthma for health care providers. In accordance with the Canadian Asthma Consensus Guidelines and CTS COPD guidelines participants will be able to:

• • Identify symptoms of COPD & Asthma.
• • Differentiate COPD from Asthma.
• • Provide management according to correct diagnosis.

This is a two and a half hour program comprised of a didactic presentation delivered by specialists, followed by a case discussion period facilitated by family practitioners or certified respiratory educators. Participants have the benefit of gaining knowledge from a specialist in the field and the opportunity to actively work through a case.

This program meets the accreditation criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been accredited for 2 MAINPRO-C credits.
